Privacy policy

This site is the author page for Barbara Burton and her novel A Walk Down Rushville. It is intentionally simple, and it collects very little.

What we collect, and why

Forms. When you use a form here, whether to send a message, order signed copies, book Barbara for an event, or share a Neighbors as Family story, you provide your name, email, and whatever you choose to write. Submissions are delivered to Barbara by email through our form service so she can reply. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

Reader list. If you sign up for notes from Barbara, your email address is added to her mailing list, which is managed by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) as our email service provider. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Mailchimp's own practices are described in its privacy statement.

Cookies and analytics

Nothing that measures you loads until you say yes. A consent banner asks for your choice on your first visit, analytics storage stays denied by default through Google Consent Mode, and you can change your mind anytime from the Cookie settings link in the footer. The details live in the cookie policy.

Third parties you may interact with

Buying links go to Amazon and Audible, and music videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies once you interact with them. The novel trailer is hosted on this site directly and sets no cookies.

Your rights and choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing barbaraburtonauthor at gmail dot com. California residents may exercise the same rights under the CCPA; we do not sell personal information as defined there.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with an updated date.
